the Fine Line Between Thrifting and Collecting

I've gone to a lot of flea markets looking for a specific china my mother-in-law collects. It's ridiculously hard to find so when you actually find some of it you feel like you've won the lottery or something - cause the odds are so slim.

For some reason I've transferred this to thrift shopping. I have way too much hanging in my closet that I don't use that much but that hold some sort of collecting value. Something that are so unique and hard to find that I just have to had it. I guess it is the same thing that makes me stand in line for Marant in 2 hours. If it's limited it's just a lot more fun.

Today I found this shirt at the thrift shop where I volunteer.I had to take it home with me because I already had a matching jacket! What are the odds of finding two items in the same print, from the same clothing line (same label: City Look) in thrift shops?

It's not the first time I've done this though. I've also found these two pieces of old H&M exclusif items in two different stores in different ends of the country and at very different times.
